Three ways to see Nara

The main sights around the park lie close together, so many visitors walk the route themselves. Buses connect both railway stations with the sights. A bus ride is not a guided tour, though, and a guided tour is not the same as a day trip by coach. It helps to keep the three apart when you compare offers.

This guide is independent and not connected to any tour company, temple, shrine or bus operator. Prices are in Japanese yen (JPY) as of 2026. Admission to the sights is paid separately in most cases, so check what a tour price covers.
